Horry County Humane Society needs your help! We have volunteer opportunities with flexible hours and "hands on" experience. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, unless accompanied by a guardian.

The Horry County Humane Society will be recognized for providing outstanding care for homeless cats and dogs in the county. Our strengths are in educating the public about pet care and the relief of suffering, rehabilitation, spaying/neutering, and promoting adoption of unwanted animals.

• Great position for someone who can only volunteer weekends or once a month
• Must become familiar with shelter policies and procedures
• Educates the public about adoptions, animal care, spay/neuter, etc.

Coin Bank Collection

• Collects money from banks in local businesses.

• Tracks contributions in each location

• Scout new locations for banks

Bathing Animals

• All animals must be bathed prior to surgery
• Other animal need baths on an "as needed" basis and/or before being placed for adoption

Cleaning Cages (requires regular scheduling)

• Best position for someone who wants to volunteer between 8AM and 11AM
• All cages and runs are scooped and sterilized daily
• Handling animals and giving them love
• Dog or cats...you choose!
